Hello everyone!

In the spirit of the season - I would like to start a thread that will help the least fortunate amongst us. This thread isn't meant to make the poor into super rich in matter of minutes - it's meant to make the poor just a little less poor!

And that is why, I am asking you, the kind people of Guru, for your help.

THE RULES.
READ THEM BEFORE YOU POST!

A. Rules for the people that want to DONATE:

1. There is crap and there is crap.
Please, if you have stuff that you want to donate, look at it in a critical away. There are items you aren't using because you have no need for them and there are items you aren't using because it's crap.
Unload the crap to your local Merchant. Keep this thread for items that one can actually use (there is no use for a 14^50 sword).

2. The item shouldn't be expensive.
Now, nobody is going to to throw a hissy fit if you donate something that actually has some value, but this is meant to help the people that are actually having issues obtaining a max items, rather then skin collectors! I was mostly thinking of greens that you couldn't even sell if you wanted because nobody wants that skin anymore.

3. You will be giving these items DIRECTLY to the recipient.
There is not going to be any gathering of items, people will contact you directly.

4. After all the items you want to donate will find a new home - please delete your post in this thread!
This is meant to keep this thread as transparent as possible and to help people find what they want fast.

5. A description of the item you are giving should be included.
This is pretty much a must for non-unique items but it will also be useful for unique items. Something like "Mesmer Domination Staff - Milefaun's Staff" would be superb since it would, not only, enable for faster searches, but it would be a great help for the people who are the prime target of this thread - people who probably aren't up to speed with every little thingy in GW. Make sure that the spelling is correct so that people can easily look it up on wiki for further info.

6. If you have additional items you want to donate after your first post - edit that post.
Once again - let's keep it as simple as possible.

7. It is in your own interest to edit your post here after you give away certain items.
This prevents people from bugging you about items you no longer have and it helps prevent disappointment.

8. Items may include anything that will help the most casual players.
Which includes stuff like weapons, armour material, runes, insignias, ...
You are always welcome to give other stuff - yet, given the format of this thread - it might be better to make a separate thread for such items in the Giveaway section (such as minies, dye, ... or items whose value goes beyond their stats).

9. Do not add additional conditions on how to obtain an item.
You list the item - you should be able to give it to the first person that bugs you about it (of course - if the person asking for it behaves like an ass - of course you are welcome to be an ass back.

). If you want to make a competition about the items in question - make a new thread.

10. Provide info on how the items can be obtained.
Should people contact you in-game or by PMs? When will you be on?
Additional options such as email or ...?
I know this will sound as the most obvious thing EVER but - keep in mind that by providing that info you agree that people can contact you. Do not throw hissy fits if people contact you because of the info you provided. That's also the reason why stuff you gave away should be removed from the list.

B. Rules for the users that want to OBTAIN an item.

1. Do not beg.
This thread is meant to serve as a list of items that are given away. You contact the donor the by the means that the donor provides.

2. Show the donors some respect.
The name of the recipient is in the sole discretion of the donor. Do not throw hissy fits if the item was already given away.

3. This isn't meant as a way to dress up your heroes.
This is meant to help those among us that need the items the most.

4. This isn't meant as a place to find bargains.
Given the format of this give-away - you probably won't find anything that would be worth your time. If something of that sort should pop up - play fair.
Let's leave the cheating and scamming out of this thread.

5. Do not reply in this thread if you WANT an item.
Contact the person who is donating it. This is just a list of items that are meant to be given away.

6. Do not post "thank you"-replies here.
A separate thread can be created for such acts, depending on if this works or not. If such a thread will be created - it will be listed here!
Once again - this is meant to serve as a list ONLY!

7. Unless you want a SPECIFIC item - it might be best to provide a generic description of what you want when you ask the donor.
Since the items might be given away fast, asking for a specific item might mean you won't get it. So, might I suggest, that you provide a specific item you want AND substitutes if that item is no longer available. Of course this mostly plays a role where instant communication isn't possible.

Additional rules might be added.

Side-note:
The reason why this wasn't started in the Giveaway section is for it to receive maximum publicity at least for the first few days, especially since this thread isn't meant to be replied to by the people who want things but rather it's to be seen by people who want to GIVE things.
If the thread fails - it can be moved without objection to the Giveaway section.
This post will not contain items I want to give away - I will make second post in this thread with that info so that I separate rules from the items which gives me an easier way of deleting or editing it later.

I applaude this initiative, but how do you know that a player will really be giving the stuff to who needs it, instead of someone that just wants free stuff for him/his heroes?

Like Kosto said - there is no way of knowing it.
But, considering that this gives me an option of getting a few of my things that I don't need to someone that might need them, and doing nothing does not achieve that - it's a risk I am willing to take.
The question is - are you?

Still - like I said - this isn't the place to debate this. It's just a platform for those that are wiling to take this risk - to do so.

LOL, there's 1 post from someone offering things and about 12 from people asking for cash/ecto!

Anyhow, I have some extra stuff, I'll update this post after I finish working (and yes, I'm browsing guru when I should be working).
